MVP provides home based health care, also known as old fashioned house calls.
-MVP specializes in family practice for home-bound patients and coordinates care with all other in-home specialties (Cardiology, Nephrology, Pulmonaology, Dermatology, Podiatry and Mental Health)
Home care doctors and practitioners perform the same services that house call doctors did years ago. They can diagnose and treat illnesses, write prescriptions, and make referrals The average patient is typically seen once per month and may vary based on their health and other factors. MVP can order in-home Labs including Covid-19 testing, X-Rays, EKGs, Echocardiograms and other testing by diagnostic and x-ray services, home health aids, portable oxygen, etc.
In order to qualify for our services, you must be considered home-bound based on the Medicare guidelines for home-bound status. Medicare considers you homebound if:
Your doctor should decide if you are homebound based on their evaluation of your condition. If you qualify for Medicare’s home health benefit, your plan of care will also certify that you are homebound.
Even if you are homebound, you can still leave your home for medical treatment, religious services, and/or to attend a licensed or accredited adult day care center without putting your homebound status at risk. Leaving home for short periods of time or for special non-medical events, such as a family reunion, funeral, or graduation, should also not affect your homebound status. You may also take occasional trips to the barber or beauty parlor.
